When buying a baby conure from a conure breeder, it is recommended that the baby bird has been weaned from hand feeding prior to purchase. Since the baby will naturally want to be hand fed once you take it home, it may be difficult to wean the bird from hand feeding after you buy it, potentially causing eating problems down the road.
