Baby cockatiels, such as the cockatiel in this video, may need to be hand fed. When buying a cockatiel baby from a cockatiel breeder, most people will recommend that the baby bird should be weaned from hand feeding.

Because it may be difficult to wean a baby bird off of hand feeding once it is older, it could cause eating problems down the road if the bird hasn't been weaned before you purchase it.
